When talking about beautiful and minimalist watches, the brand that comes to my mind is NOMOS Glashuette. The size of Nomos watches usually falls in the range of 33mm to 42mm. Their timepieces are rich in detail, yet modern and timeless in style. NOMOS Glashutte, a German watchmaker, is no stranger to innovation. They are the creators of some of the world’s thinnest automatic movements, which are famous for their modern designs and appreciated by watch collectors worldwide. With the new Sport functions, the company debuted new models in Baselworld 2019. Now presenting you the Nomos watches along with the best specifications that are available right here.

Nomos Watches in Baselworld
Baselworld’s history can be dated back to 1917, when the fair was called “Basel Mustermesse” or “muba”. Since the fair firstly welcomed international producers in 1986, “Baselworld” was newly named in order to reflect this globalization. It became the world’s most significant international exposition for watches and jewelry as a result of this stride toward globalization. It still holds this position today.
So, in 2019, at Baselworld, Nomos released a series of 42 mm Sport Neomatik watches under Tangente and Club collections. They feature 1000m in water resistance. Due to their sturdy construction, sport watches, especially those with a high-level water resistance, are typically thick and hefty. The small DUW6101 neomatik caliber, on the other hand, keeps the new NOMOS Sport models slim. The ultra-thin mechanism (height 3.6 mm) saves space and provides these clocks a surprising resilience. NOMOS manufactures these neomatik calibers, which include self-winding, a neomatik date mechanism, and bidirectional rapid correction.
Actually, I was a little worried, and obviously disappointed. To be fair, the watches themselves were seductive, like all Nomos watches, but I did not understand why they come BIG! With its sportiness comes a new, unusually big 42 mm diameter for NOMOS, which has displeased some NOMOS “purists,” who prefer the ancient NOMOS heritage of smaller, minimalistic watches. On the other side, it thrilled those with larger wrists or who just prefer to wear larger “sporty” watches. If the reason is that they’re trying to meet the demand of the client, which is fully accessible, also why not create a new line, rather than produce new watch models under existing Tangente and Club Series?
There was another problem, and that was the price. Although Nomos is no longer made “cheap” watches, part of their appeal was always the price they offered. Starting at around you can enter Nomos’s in- house horology with a hand- coil club (that’s what I did), and also if you’ve chosen the advanced Zürich World Time, that has an automatic world timekeeper. Over the times, the price of their watches has risen sluggishly but surely, with the development of thin “curvaceous” classes inside their homes, but with these new sports watches, they’re gone.
Today’s Thoughts
But it was 2019, and now, a time latterly, I’ve cooled down and decided that It should recognize and fix my bias, and actually try one of these watches. There is no doubt that the contrivers of Nomos watch are veritably talented, and its great feature do attract me. So, I am getting one on my wrist for many weeks.
