Check Your Hardware Device

Begin the process to resolve the slow internet issue on your Netgear router by checking all the connected hardware. You need to ensure that the hardware you are using is working well, or it’s not damaged from any side. You can check the Netgear router by connecting it to a power source and see if the LED is working or not. If a green light is visible on the LED of the router, then it’s working fine. There’s no major problem with the Netgear hardware.

Verify Your Connections

Sometimes users come across the slow internet issue due to the poor connectivity between the devices. So, you need to verify the connection between the devices as they need to be well connected for smooth usage. If you have connected them via Ethernet cable, then check it. It needs to be connected well and avoid using the old cable as sometimes, it’s worn out.

In the case of a wireless connection, make sure that the LEDs on the router are blinking green light. If the lights on your router are blinking red, then we suggest you to reboot your router and check if it helps you in fixing the issue.

To change your password, you must visit www.routerlogin.net setup wizard.

Important Note – Try to use special characters in your password. It will make it difficult for unauthorized users to crack it.

Well-Position Your Router

You may also face a slow internet issue if your router is placed near devices such as refrigerators, microwaves, etc that cause radio waves interference in the network. So, position your router away from these devices to avoid WiFi interference. And, keep your device within the range of the router. Sometimes, users may face slow internet issues when their devices are not getting proper signals from the router.

Reset Your Netgear Router

Did none of these things work so far? Then, you must be required to perform a hard factory reset of your Netgear router. Sometimes, the improper configuration of Netgear router also results in theslow internet issue. You can perform factory default resetting by visiting routerlogin.net or by pressing a button located on the router. For that, you are required to press & hold the button for some seconds, after that your Netgear Router will automatically reboot. Configure your router again to enjoy the internet services.

Important Note– If routerlogin.net doesn’t work for you, then you can also use the default Netgear router IP to access the login page.
